Welcome to the South Burnett Rail Trail. Whether you are a first time user, or you have visited the trail many times, we know you will have a wonderful experience. We will be posting regularly to keep local riders and visitors informed about the comings and goings on the Rail Trail, as well as highlighting some of the things that you can see and do while visiting the Trail.
There is much to see or do while you cycle, run or walk the trail. Remember the trail is sealed from Kingaroy to Murgon. From Murgon the Rail Trail is gravel and continues for another 7 kms to the entrance to the Moffatdale Winery Route. Unfortunately, at this stage, the section of Rail Trail that continues from the Moffatdale Winery Route entrance to Goomeri and then from Goomeri to Kilkivan is closed.
The Moffatdale Winery Route is a definite MUST DO if you are visiting the South Burnett Rail Trail. There are four wineries to visit and lots of accommodation options
If you are visiting the Rail Trail don’t forget to try one of our six Loop Ride options. These are short rides that start and finish on the Rail Trail. The Loop Rides will give you a great understanding of the beautiful rural landscapes that are on offer in the South Burnett
Remember that we also have a fully signpost Link Route through to Nanango and onto the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail head in Yarraman. This is a wonderful ride for the adventurous.
